Description:
Introducing South Asian Interfaith Composers Workshop: Students explore the multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-faith cultural background of South Asian music and society. An overview of Hindustani classical music includes discussions and examples of major South Asian composers whose Muslim and Hindu faiths intersect. Students will enjoy learning how to sing along with Samia and how to count rhythmic time. Other workshops are available for specific school needs.
