Year 2 of Trawick TeamUp program begins today!!
Today marks the beginning of year 2 as grantees of the Trawick Foundation's Team Up Grant. Class Acts Arts partnered with Gandhi Brigade and Passion 4 Learning to provide after school and summer programs to Middle School Students in the area, as part of the "My Story, Our Story" project, beginning last year. Spearheaded by Passion 4 Learning's DigLit (Digital Literacy) program this year, there continues to be wonderful synergy between the three organizations, with Passion 4 Learning providing youth with skills to read and write effectively in a digital age, Gandhi Brigade focusing on media skills and youth empowerment, and Class Acts Arts connecting cultures and communities through the arts.
We could not be more excited to be working with a number of wonderful teaching professionals, in a number of disciplines, especially those at the two schools we are serving this year, Eastern Middle School and E. Brooke Lee Middle School. Over the course of the year, students will work on four projects all of which will provide multimedia content for their own blog, from a photostory to a podcast with original music, as well as material to share at the end of the school year as part of Gandhi Brigade's annual Youth Media Festival.
All involved are grateful for the continued opportunity provided by the Trawick Foundation and we look forward to sharing this experience with you, throughout the year. Thanks to those at the Trawick Foundation, as well as our wonderful partners, Gandhi Brigade and Passion 4 Learning.
