Classacts

Scope of Activities

Class Acts Arts is a nonprofit arts-in-education and presenting organization founded in 1995 to facilitate high quality and culturally diverse performances, workshops and residencies for schools and communities, at-risk youth, seniors and special needs populations throughout Maryland, DC and Virginia. In its first decade, Class Acts Arts has grown from a grassroots project into one of the area's most respected arts organizations. Last year our staff facilitated over 2,500 programs, reaching an audience of over 450,000, with a special focus on outreach to underserved audiences, low-income schools, community centers and libraries. Class Acts Arts also provides tools and resources for artists' career development.

Our special programs include:

  • Project Youth ArtReach, Serving at-risk youth
  • Hoop & Holler for Health!, Drawing on the arts to promote healthful living
  • Kaleidoscope Family Performance Series, in Silver Spring

This year we are pleased to expand our offerings into the visual arts and playwriting, as well as new programs available through the Smithsonian Institution. We look forward to working with you in bringing Class Acts Arts to your community.
