Performance and Cultural Arts Assemblies
Folkdance Journey around the World
Take a journey to six different continents and explore what makes dances unique to different people. We begin in South America with Viva Jujuy! Then we travel to North America for a clogging lesson. After a journey to Europe to learn the Italian Tarantella and a French work dance, students join an Israeli children’s dance. Finally, an Australian jig and a Tahitian canoe dance conclude the journey. This performance involves student participation, geography connections and related dance traditions around the globe; a wonderful kick off assembly for a school’s International Fair or Cultural Diversity Day.
Professional Development for Educators
Teachers can learn dances to meet the curriculum objectives for music and physical education or for the integration with academic subjects. Save travel, time and money going to large conferences by holding teacher workshops in your own school. Understand how to use dance to enhance curriculum and learning in Math, Social Studies, Music and Physical Education classes.
